BUG: Standard 5 String Bass Tuning is Incorrect

Symptoms

When using the standard 5 string bass tuning that's listed in the tuning dictionary, notes on the 5th string (bottommost) sound incorrect.

Cause

The pitch of the 5th string in the tuning is set to the wrong octave. Instead of B1, it should be B0.

Resolution

Change and save the standard 5 string bass tuning as follows:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Tuning Dictionary.
  2. Select the 5-string Instrument item from the List tunings for box.
  3. From the list of tunings, click the Bass-Standard tuning and then click the Edit Tuning button. (the button with the pencil on it)
  4. Click the down arrow spin button on the 5th string until the B1 value becomes B0.
  5. Click OK and then click OK again.
