Symptoms

After pressing the play button, the metronome sounds, the music scrolls and the fret numbers are highlighted, but you can't hear one or more of the guitars.

More Information

Version 1.5 of Power Tab Editor was re-coded so that you must have the appropriate guitar in (Gtr. In) symbols in place in the score, or you will not hear the guitars during playback. (this was to overcome an error during playback when switching between guitars on the same staff in the old version) Gtr. In symbols tell the Power Tab playback engine which guitars are active on each staff in the section. For more information on how Gtr. Ins work, see the Power Tab Editor help file.

Resolution

Add Gtr. In symbols were they are needed, as follows:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Score Checker.
  2. Double click on any "missing Gtr In" error in the list. The Score Checker will minimize, and the program will automatically move to the location where the error occurs in the score.
  3. On the Guitar menu, click Guitar In and then select the guitars you want to activate.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 for each "missing Gtr In" error found by the Score Checker.
