BUG: Note Beams, Rests, Thick Music Bars Are Not Being Drawn or Printed

Article ID:000023
Category:Score Creation, Editing and Notation
Applies to:Power Tab Editor (all versions)
Created:04-Sep-2001
Last updated:10-Feb-2005
Bug status:Open
Bug severity:Low
Revision number:10
Author(s):Brad Larsen

Symptoms

During the score rendering process to the screen or printer, the note beams, whole and half rests, and thick music bars are not being drawn.

Cause

Due to a supposed speed improvement in drawing, Power Tab Editor makes use of the Windows "PatBlt" function to draw rectangles. Unfortunately, not all devices support the PatBlt function. If your printer or screen does not support this function, rectangles will not be drawn.

Resolution

Currently, the only resolution to this problem that is guaranteed to work is to convert the file to .pdf, and then print the .pdf file from Adobe Reader. For instructions on how to convert a Power Tab score to .pdf, see the Related Links.
