Symptoms

When trying to open a Power Tab file in Power Tab Librarian, you receive the following error message:

This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel.

Cause

Power Tab Librarian uses Windows file associations to determine which program is used to open the file. If you do not have a program installed on your computer that can view Power Tab files, (and has the appropriate file association setup) you will not be able to open any files.

Resolution

Download and install Power Tab Editor from the Download Center. The software can view Power Tab files, and will setup the necessary Windows file association.

Note: Power Tab Editor must be run once before the file association is established.
